SHIELD

Per fess wavy enhanced Argent and Azure a pale counter-changed, a laurel branch Or above a lion rampant Gules.


CREST

From a wreath Argent and Azure an annulet Celeste interlaced with two officer's swords points down saltirewise Proper, overall a set of scales Sable.


MOTTO

A scroll Argent bordered Gules, doubled and inscribed "NEMO SUPRA" (NONE BETTER) Azure.


SEAL

The coat of arms as blazoned in full color on a white disk enclosed by a dark blue border edged on the outside with a gold rope and inscribed in gold "USCGC VENTUROUS" above and "WMEC 625" below.

Symbolism

SHIELD

Blue, red and white are the colors traditionally used by the United States Coast Guard. The lion embodies bravery and zeal suggesting the cutter's name, Venturous. The cutter's national defense mission is represented by the lion's aggressive stance. The counter-changed colors highlight cooperation and strength, while the gold laurel symbolizes high achievement and excellence.


CREST

The scales underscore the enforcing of maritime laws. The light blue annulet represents coastal waters and alludes to a life-ring highlighting, the USCGC Venturous' mission to save lives and property on our coastline, including saving and protecting the ocean environment. The crossed swords are interlaced with the annulet symbolizing teamwork and military readiness.
